How to play Kubb Dice

Take the field

Each player begins with five Kubbs on their Baseline. The King stands in the centre. In Game 1, both players roll all six dice; most 3s starts. Ties reroll all six. The previous winner starts later games.

Throw two at a time

You may throw up to three times. If your Field is empty, you throw from your Baseline: a 2+ hits an opposing Field Kubb and a 3 hits a Baseline Kubb. If your Field has Kubbs, you throw from there: a 1+ hits the opposing Field and a 2+ hits the Baseline.

Field before Baseline

All opposing Field Kubbs must be hit first. If one die hits the last Field Kubb, the other may hit the Baseline. Stop safely to move every hit Kubb into your Field, or keep throwing and risk losing the turn.

Respect the Void

Two visible Voids end your turn and erase every hit from it. A double Void can earn a Ragnarok token, up to three, if you have not used one that turn. Spend one token to cover one Void; only one token may be used per throw. Tokens reset each game.

Topple the King

Clear every opposing Kubb, then make a fresh throw at the King. Only a pair of 3s wins the game. Be the first player to win two games and take the match.
